When Intensity Speaks
The point is to keep a strong state — awe, terror, sleeplessness, sex, grief, sudden relief — from making an irreversible decision for you. Intensity is a storm: it can reveal the landscape and it cannot rule it.
Use this when one of those states demands an irreversible act, and not for every delight. You need time, not materials: a night, a day, whatever the decision allows.
Do not act. Return first.
Eat. Sleep. Find daylight. Check the facts. Speak with someone outside the storm. Let the body come home. Let dissent have time.
If the house is actually on fire, get out. Do not wait for daylight or a second opinion.
